What is Antropress

Antropress is the journal for social anthropology students at the University of Oslo. It covers a wide range of topics—from interviews and film reviews to theoretical reflections and personal fieldwork experiences. The journal is mainly written by bachelor’s and master’s students at the Department of Social Anthropology, with occasional contributions from alumni, staff, and others who share our curiosity.

First published in 1973, Antropress was once a regular print publication. In the past decade, activity slowed down—but now we’re back. More than just a journal, Antropress is a space where students, alumni, and staff can come together, exchange ideas, and build a community

The team

Antropress is run by an editorial collective of bachelor’s and master’s students from the Department of Social Anthropology at UiO that take care of everything—from editing and design to managing the website and securing funding. Right now, the team consists of Martha Førde Bondahl, Sebastian Boehlke, Stian Moeller, Jonas Banggren, Rigas Karampasis, Sverre Bjørnhaug, Joanna Grytnes and Sara Martinez Belendez.

Many others are involved and have become unvaluable helpers, under them Maka Suarez and Thorgeir Kolshus, Ivonne Bautista and Kristoffer Holgersen—keep Antropress going as a space for conversation, reflection, and community.
